PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the coexistence between the electromagnetic characteristics and the running durability to be on high level in a metal magnetic thin film type magnetic recording medium. SOLUTION: This medium comprises a non-magnetic support, the texture layer 2 with the fine irregularity formed on the non-magnetic support and the magnetic layer 3 consisting of a metal magnetic thin film formed on the texture layer 2, and the texture layer 2 contains the inactive particulate and the dispersant.
