PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a central processing unit and an image processor with which color space transformation is performed at a high speed and the description of software is simplified without obstructing cost reduction and miniaturization. SOLUTION: This central processing unit(CPU) 201 is provided with a color space transformation instruction decoder 105, a color space transformation execution circuit 106 and an I/F2 part 107 for performing the color space transformation. In the case that a color space transformation instruction is inputted, the instruction is decoded in the color space transformation instruction decoder 105 and executed in the color space transformation execution circuit 106 and access to a register 108 and external data is performed through the I/F2 part 107. Thus, a color space transformation processing is realized by simple processes and the color space transformation is realized at a high speed by the simple description of the software. Further, since no external IC is added, the miniaturization and the cost reduction are facilitated.
