PURPOSE:To obtain the title masterbatch free from a problem that the function of the thermochromic substance is impaired at high temperatures under a high pressure and from blooming by mixing specified thermochromic particles with a wax and a PS resin. CONSTITUTION:A thermochromic substance (a) comprising an electron-donating coloring dyestuff (e.g., 3,3'-diemthoxy-fluoran), an electron-accepting substance (e.g., p-phenyl-phenol) and a solvent (e.g., octyl alcohol) is mixed with a thermosetting resin (b) (e.g., polyester resin), and the mixture is granulated to obtain granules of a particle diameter of 1-50mum. These granules are mixed with a hydrophilic polymeric compound (c) (e.g., PVA) to obtain thermochromic particles (4) comprising the granules surface-coated with component (c). 100 pts.wt. component A is mixed with 100-500 pts.wt. wax (B) having a melt viscosity of 1000-20000CPS and excellent compatibility with a PS resin (e.g., polystyrene wax) and a PS resin (C) of a melt flow rate >=10g/10min, and the obtained mixture is pelletized. |
