PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage format system capable of controlling special reproduction, such as high-speed reproduction with only the hardware only, etc. SOLUTION: The format system stores format data stored on storage media, such as discs, etc., in units each called packet 10 composed of a control information region 11 and a data region 12. The data region 12 stores in arbitrary data units about image information. The control information region 11 includes an identifying ID region 13 for storing an identifier for identifying the type of packet 10, a data size region 14 for indicating the size of the packet 10, and an additional region 15 for storing information for controlling a special reproduction. Thus, control data are given to the packet unit of each storage data, and hence the special reproduction is controlled using only the hardware only using the control data of the packet unit in the special reproduction.
