PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor by which the problems of the delay of dot generation at the building part of a low density area or a high density area and trailing after the low density area of the high density are ends are solved and a binarization image processing is performed at a high speed even without using a complicated processing circuit or the like without side effects to cause image quality degradation. SOLUTION: This image processor binarizes multilevel image data to two- level image data composed of a first gradation value and a second gradation value (the first gradation value < the second gradation value) by using an error diffusion method or a least average error method. In a prescribed multilevel image data area, a relation is established so that a threshold value for binarization set for the gradation value of prescribed multilevel image data becomes equal to or smaller than the threshold value set for the gradation value larger than the prescribed gradation value. A binarization means 36 adds random noise to the set threshold value or corrected pixel data and then performs a binarization processing.
