PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image input device that displays a list of images on which a hierarchical relation of micro images denoted by a retrieval mark code is reflected. SOLUTION: An input device is used to designate a pattern of a hierarchical relation among images of micro films denoted by an image mark in a step S31. The input device is used in a step S32 to give a read instruction of the micro film to a micro film scanner. When the scanner receives the read instruction, reading of a micro image and reading of the image mark depending on a designated pattern are executed in a step S33 and the read image data and the read image mark information are registered to a RAM of a host computer. In a step S34, a display device displays a list of image data depending on the pattern of the hierarchical relation denoted by the designated image mark.
