PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for detecting a relatively slow moving object within a video where a large quantity of noise that fast changes occurs. SOLUTION: Photographed images of a target area are sequentially stored as much as the prescribed number of images in equal space with the latest photographed image stored first, a first difference image DI1 composed of the difference between the stored latest photographed image It and its adjacent photographed image It-1 and a second difference image DIn composed of the difference between the latest photographed image It and a photographed image It-n away in prescribed space are formed, and a composite image SIt is formed to be defined as an intermediate image by performing image subtraction of the first difference image DI1 from an image obtained by multiplying an image obtained by performing image addition of a previously calculated intermediate image SIt-1 to the second difference image DIn by an attenuation coefficient (a). A binarized image BIt is subsequently obtained by binarizing the calculated composite image SIt by using a prescribed threshold during repeating the same process, and when a region being larger than a prescribed area is detected from the video of the binarized image, the region is reported. |
