PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the inversion of white/black for pixels for which resolution conversion is not performed in the case of performing the resolution conversion of no integral multiple. SOLUTION: Source image data stored in a line memory 13 and the matching pattern of a matching pattern RAM 12 are compared in a comparator 21, and when they match, smoothing data corresponding to the pattern are stored in an image data memory 22. A selector 23 outputs image data increased to the portion of four pixels of the image data memory 22 in the case that an inputted selection signal increases the pixels and outputs the source pixel data in the line memory 13 as they are in the case that the selection signal does not increase the pixels. |
