<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a consignee to designate whether an article is to be delivered to the consignee's address or to a delivery business tie-up store near the address according to the consignee's convenience prior to delivery of the article. SOLUTION: A delivery company 2 sends article identification information and a scheduled delivery date to a consignee 3. The consignee 3 sends the article identification information on the article which he/she can not receive on the scheduled delivery date and information on the consignee's address to the delivery company 2. Upon receiving the article identification information and the consignee's address information from the consignee 3, the delivery company 2 sends a list of delivery business tie-up stores near the address to the consignee 3 based on the consignee's address information. The consignee 3 selects a store from the list of delivery business tie-up stores and notifies the delivery company 2 of it. The delivery company 2 arranges that the article, which is identified by the article identification information sent from the consignee 3, should be delivered to the delivery business tie-up store selected by the consignee 3 and makes the store issue an exchange ticket to the consignee 3.</p> |
