PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the deflecting efficiency without generating a neck shadow. SOLUTION: A horizontal deflecting coil 16 provided in a deflection york comprises the first and second coils 16A, 16B having different center positions of deflecting P1, P2 in the direction of a center axis (Z) of the york and a current controlling means for variably controlling a ratio between currents flowing in the first and second coils 16A, 16B based on a vertical deflecting position of an electron beam.
