PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a module management unit for a wireless communication system and a module management method that can efficiently consume power. SOLUTION: A module configuration of three blocks is adopted for a network interface section 201 and a transmission/reception section 203. The operation of only the module 1 of this invention attains traffic of a small capacity, the operations of the modules 1, 2 attains traffic of a medium capacity and the operations of all the modules 1-3 attains traffic of a large capacity.
