PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of surely preventing it from being used by a third person, without authorization and lowering the cost of construction of a system, and to provide a print limiting method for an imaging device. SOLUTION: This imaging device 2 identifies a transmitting side host device 1 by transmitting side physical address included in the packet of the transmitted printing data to determine whether a printing is permitted for the identified host device 1. If printing is not permitted, the transmitted packet is scrapped and the printing will not be made. If the host device 1 is one permitted to make printing, the packet is accumulated, and when the receiving of the packet is completed, the host device conducts printing. Since the printing data sending side host device 1 is identified by a packet level, the use of the imaging device by the third person without authorization can be prevented, using a simple structure. |
