PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photo-electrochemical device as a clean energy device having high energy conversion efficiency permitting charging with light energy. SOLUTION: The photo-electrochemical device comprises a hydrogen pole 1 as a first pole, an oxygen pole 2 as a second pole out of which electrochemical energy is picked in a space to the hydrogen pole 1 and a photoelectric pole 6 as a third pole, the photoelectric pole 6 as the third pole being formed of an organic material having photoelectron exciting ability such as a ruthenium complex (tris(2,2'-bipyridine) ruthenium (II)) for accelerating the pick-out of the electrochemical energy. |
