PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna diversity communication unit that has a small hardware scale and can improve a communication state of a succeeding channel even when low speed frequency hopping is conducted. SOLUTION: The antenna diversity communication unit is provided with a changeover means that selects one antenna from antennas 10, 11, a received information measurement means 13 that measures a reception state of the antenna selected by the changeover means, a storage means 16 that stores frequency difference information between a current channel and the succeeding channel, and a control means 15 that controls the changeover means. The antenna is switched by using the frequency difference information and signal information when the current and succeeding channels have a high frequency correlation and a reception state is defective and the channel is hopped to the succeeding channel. The switching diversity is put into a practical use by using the frequency correlation.
