PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a still image recorded, while being divided into a plurality of frames naturally without giving feeling of incongruity from the start of reproduction. SOLUTION: When original still image data are recorded while being divided into a plurality of frames, i.e., first through 64th frames, an original still image 31a is inserted into the head position thereof and recorded, while being compressed. At reproduction, a decompressed incomplete original still image at the head position is displayed at first until a complete original still image is composited from a recording still image divided into first through 64th frames. After a complete original still image is composited, that complete original still image is displayed.
