BUILT-IN ANTENNA OF PORTABLE RADIO UNIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high antenna gain with a simple configuration while a user is using a portable radio unit in various ways. SOLUTION: Length that is nearly half wavelength out of an antenna element formed by a conductive board is arranged along the inside of the enclosure of the upper end of the portable radio unit 6 as a monopole section 1. Length that is nearly the quarter wavelength in the antenna element is arranged in parallel with the surface of a base plate 5 of the portable radio 6 as an inverse F antenna section 2. The direction where the inverse F antenna section 2 is arranged is set in parallel with (Y-axis direction) the upper end of the portable radio unit 6. The inverse antenna section 2 is grounded to the base plate 5 via a ground point 3 that is provided at one end. A power feed point 4 is provided away from the ground point by a specific distance. The configuration eliminates the need for a matching circuit, simplifies the configuration of the portable radio, and allows a high antenna gain to be obtained in various usage states.
