PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device that, in a light guide where the light from a light source enters into one side surface and is radiated from the upper surface, and the density and size of shadow near the one side surface, an lowered but the brightness of radiated light from the upper surface is not lowered, and a liquid crystal display device and an apparatus using the same. SOLUTION: This lighting device has incident light adjusting parts 2, 3 set in one side surface of the light guide body where recesses 4, 6 having a height smaller than the length in the thick direction of the light guide body and bottoms 5, 7 are formed toward the other side surface of the light guide. Thereby, the density and the size of the shadow near the one side surface of the light guide can be lowered and drop in brightness of the radiating light from the upper surface of the light guide can be retrained. |
