PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electric discharge lamp lighting equipment, which gets rid of distinguishing of the lamp out immediately after lighting and distinguishing at the time of polarity reversing, and suppresses degradation of the lamp. SOLUTION: It consists of a direct-current power supply 1, the electric discharge lamp 5, a DC/DC converter circuit 2 changing a voltage V1 into a voltage which the electric discharge lamp 5 needs, an inverter circuit 3 which changes the direct-current output of the DC/DC converter circuit 2 into an alternate current, an igniter part 4 which impresses a high voltage required for starting the electric discharge lamp 5 to the electric discharge lamp 5, a control part 9 which controls the DC/DC converter circuit 2 and the inverter circuit 3, a resistance 7 for detecting an output voltage of the DC/DC converter circuit 2, a resistance 8 for detecting an output current detection of the DC/DC converter circuit 2, and a switch 10 connected between the direct-current power supply 1 and the DC/DC converter circuit 2. The polarity reversing time is decided by reaching a value, which a lamp current instruction value KI5 is integrated with an instruction value integration part 97, to a predetermined threshold. |
