PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new input method and a new input device capable of reducing the number of input keys, and allowing general Japanese people to easily input Japanese, in comparison with the input by Roman characters or a kana (Japanese syllabary) typewriter. SOLUTION: Consonants and vowels are set for all syllables including voiced sound, semi-voiced sound and contracted sound of Japanese pronunciation, and a key corresponding to the consonant and a key corresponding to the vowel are inputted successively. In particular, the contracted sound is determined as an extended consonant formed, by taking the semi-vowel to the consonant, or an extended vowel formed by combining the semi-vowel with the vowel. The contracted sound can be also inputted by a shift key. As all of syllables including the contracted sound can be inputted by one consonant and one vowel, Japanese can be easily inputted even by a beginner, in comparison with using the kana typewrite and the input by Roman characters, which are troublesome and requires skill. Furthermore, the number of necessary keys can be markedly reduced, the user can easily gain the skill, and increases the input speed. Further the input device and the information apparatus can made compact in size and made lightweight. |
