PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of setting processing contents for the calculation of debt for retirement benefits and performing the calculation, wherein processing contents for recognition calculation (retirement benefit calculation) corresponding to several regulations can be set easily and the recognition calculation can be executed. SOLUTION: The method comprises a step of storing the data of employees required for the calculation into an employee file, a step of adding a condition index to the discrimination condition of an employee whom the calculation is performed for and storing the condition index and the discrimination condition into a discrimination condition file, a step of dividing the operational expression for the calculation into operators and storing the operators and operator indexes added to the operators according to the kinds of operators into an operator file, a step of bringing an operator index selected out of the operator indexes in the operator file into correspondence with an operand, a step of adding a transaction index and a transaction order index to a combination of the operator index and the operand and storing the transaction index, the transaction order index, the operator index, and the operand into a transaction content file, and a step of storing a condition index selected out of the condition indexes in the discrimination condition file and a transaction index selected out of the transaction indexes in the transaction content file into an associated-information file.
