PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable electrolytic capacitor where a pressure valve is reliably actuated. SOLUTION: A recess 3 is provided on the bottom surface of a packaging case 2, the pressure valve 4 formed by a thin section is provided at the recess 3, and at the same time a channel for discharging gas inside the electrolytic capacitor is provided from the recess 3 to the side of the packaging case 2. Even if the bottom surface of the electrolytic capacitor comes into contact with a board or the like, space where the pressure valve 4 is actuated by the recess 3 is secured, thus preventing the pressure valve 4 from being blocked. Also, the gas inside the electrolytic capacitor is discharged from the recess 3 to the side direction of the electrolytic capacitor through a channel 5, thus improving reliability in the actuation of the pressure valve 4.
