PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in a key switch that the switch failes loosing its safety due to a broken first plunger when an excessive force is applied to it because a force to pull out an operation key is imparted on a cam to turn the cam when the operation key is forcibly pulled out. SOLUTION: In the key switch where a switch is operated by moving the first and second plungers by rotating the cam by inserting the operation key 30 and locking the first and the second plungers by operating a lock mechanism 3 by a lock/unlock means, the cam 10-1 and 10-2, the first and the second plungers 11-1, 12-1, 11-2 and 12-2 and switches 2A and 2B are each made in double constitutions and one of the first and the second plungers 11-1, 12-1,11-2 or 12-2 is prevented from being locked.
