PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of even children being able to freely view sex- oriented programs and violence programs with the conventional television device. SOLUTION: The television device comprises a finger print-reading means for reading a user's fingerprint, a storage registration means for reading the user's fingerprint by the fingerprint-reading means for registering as registered fingerprint data, a comparison means for comparing the registered fingerprint data with the fingerprint data, based on the fingerprint that has been read, when the user utilizes the television device body, and a power supply control means for controlling the power supply of the television device body, based on the comparison result of the comparison means. When the fingerprint data, based on the fingerprint that has been read when the user utilizes the television device body matches with the registered fingerprint data by the comparison means by comparison, the power of the television device body is turned on, and an image and a voice are outputted to the user.
