PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use in common the main circuitry of a two-level inverter also as a main circuitry of a three-level inverter. SOLUTION: With respect to an inverter controller, a gate pulse generating circuit for a three-level inverter, to which the main circuitry for two-level inverter is applicable is constructed, by combining gate pulse generation circuits 1 and 12 for two-level inverter constituted for hardware and two-level/three-level gate-switching circuits 8, 9, and 13, so that either a two-level inverter or a three-level inverter can be selected and controlled by a single circuit configuration. |
