PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for the distribution analysis of an amino acid sequence, and a method and device for the analysis of an average characteristic value. SOLUTION: The structural feature or new motif structure of an amino acid sequence heretofore not found can be found by the analysis based on the continuous setting of an analysis parameter. For example, the function and structure of the amino acid sequence can be easily found by pattern recognition from continuous amino acid sequence distribution, a category distribution chart or an average characteristic value chart of the amino acid sequence.
