PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electric discharge lamp lighting equipment effective for prolonging a life of an electric discharge lamp. SOLUTION: An inverter part 1 outputs by converting a direct-current input voltage Vin to an alternate current voltage Vac. The alternate current voltage Vac is given by an waveform which makes a sum of an ON period Ton, which alternates with a predetermined frequency and a predetermined amplitude, and an OFF period Tof, which amplitude is set to a low level, as 1 cycle periodτ. A duty ratio adjustment part 2 generates a duty ratio adjustment signal (b) of a rectangular wave, which repeats the ON period Ton and the OFF period Tof. A control part 3 adds controls to the inverter part 1, which the alternate current voltage Vac does not become zero in the OFF period Tof of the alternate current voltage Vac based on the duty ratio adjustment signal (b). |
