PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color conversion characteristic deciding method by which color conversion characteristics for getting closer to ideal color reproduction in a standard are decided and the color conversion characteristics are decided in a short time. SOLUTION: This image display device refers to held color conversion characteristics, color-converts image data for respective pixels (2) and displays images (5). In the image display device, by setting color conversion characteristic candidates (S21 and S27), predicting and calculating data after color conversion by using the set of prescribed input image data (S23), predicting and calculating the tristimulus values of colors to be displayed on the basis of the calculated data (S24) and evaluating the result (S25), whether or not the color conversion characteristic candidates satisfy requests is judged.
