PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a AC type PDP(plasma display panel) with cell structure which makes discharge area for each cell enlarge by minimizing non-discharge area among cells, and also prevents discharge by fixing barrier ribs which surround each cell. SOLUTION: In this PDP, a pair of two scanning electrodes and a pair of two sustaining electrodes of a front panel are arranged alternately, and discharge regions are formed in the gaps between the scanning electrodes and the sustaining electrodes, and front barrier ribs are formed straddling a pair of each two electrodes of them. Here, the electrodes are formed as the front barrier ribs produce non-discharge regions, and also protrusion electrodes are fixed in the discharge regions.
