NEW MATERIAL:A heparinase having the following physico-chamical properties. The optimum pH range: pH7.2-7.8; the optimum temperature range: 45-50 deg.C; activation: Ca<2+>. USE:An antithrombin agent and antitumor agent. PREPARATION:A heparinase-producing bacterium [preferably Bacillus sp.BH100 (FERM P-10408)] belonging to the genus Bacillus is cultured in a medium to allow the produced heparinase to accumulate outside the cell of the bacterium, followed by recovering the produced heparinase from the cultured solution.
