The endoscope sheath consists of a thin film tube (3,4) housing a removable guide channel (5), all without cell entrainment. The sheath has a sleeve at each distal end for easier handling. The inner sheath can be replaced by a cannula tube joined to the outer film to permit the use of sharp-edged endoscope instruments without damaging the inner sleeve. Each distal end has its own seal fitted (9) to guard against fluid build-up between sleeve and channel and the sheath is also to be used to prevent material flowing along the channel. |
