The mechanism has a reciprocating actuator shaft (12) attached to a pneumatic or hydraulic control valve. The actuator shaft (12), which is an integral part of a hydraulic cylinder (34), is provided with a return spring located inside the hydraulic cylinder (34). A hydraulic pump (30), inside the regulator housing, provides power for the actuator shaft cylinder (34) for normal operation. An electrically controlled valve (37) for the shaft cylinder (34) provides emergency regulator operation. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple, compact valve regulator with reliable emergency actuation mechanism.
