The door (1a) of a motor vehicle is provided with a handle (2) which has a circular hole (6b) to receive a cylinder lock (9). In order to fit different sizes of cylinder locks a special washer (7) with a cylindrical flange (7c) is fitted in the circular recess (6a) which surrounds the hole (6b). The washer (7) abuts against the ledge formed by the floor of the recess (6a). The body of the cylinder lock is inserted through the hole (8) in the washer (7) and is then secured to the handle (2') by a nut (11).
