A carton for packaging one or more articles (A) having a laterally extending flange (F) comprises a top wall panel (12), a side wall panel (14) connected to the top wall panel (12) and an article retention structure comprising a t ab (22a) formed at least in part from the side wall panel (14). The tab (22a) includes an upper edge (24) for engaging the underside of the flange (F) and an opposing lower edge defined at least in part by first and second fold lin es (32a, 32b). The minimum distance (S) between the top wall panel and the uppe r edge of the tab (22a) is less than the thickness (T) of the flange (F) to cause the tab to be pivoted with respect to the adjacent side wall panel (14 ).
