The gypsum incorporating cork to reduce its weight, comprises a blend including granulated waste cork and medium-granularity expanded polystyrene beads. Also claimed is a process utilizing the gypsum. CLAIMED PROCESS - The process halves panel weight compared with conventional plaster products and reduces costs without detriment to strength and insulation capacity. EMBODIMENT - Glass fibres, super-plasticizers and setting retarders are also applied.
