The invention relates to a method for the transport of road vehicles (2) on rails, whereby the road vehicle (22) is taken on a load area (24) of a low-floored vehicle running on rails (14). Said invention is characterised in that, for loading, the road vehicle (22) drives onto a support construction (20), forming the load area (22), which is then lifted together with the road vehicle (22) and hung between two pivoting bogies (10) of the low-floored vehicle.
