An industrial gas liquefaction cycle employing a main refrigeration circuit to supply low level refrigeration to the industrial gas (1, 2, 3, 4), and a forecooling circuit employing an azeotropic mixture (15, 50) to provide high level refrigeration to the refrigerant fluid (7) recirculating within the ma in refrigeration circuit. The azeotropic mixture may be subcooled (35) in the forecooling circuit.
