The invention relates to a high pressure and high temperature resistant seal between two parts (4,12) between which a relative movement is to be carried out. Said seal can be impinged upon by a pressure medium which can be supplied externally and adjusted and is arranged inside an annular pressure chamber (5). The seal is embodied as a tight membrane (3) on which an internal support (6) adapted to the shape of the tight membrane is arranged on the inner side (21) of said membrane facing the pressure medium. The outer side of the tight membrane is disposed directly or indirectly (4) next to the part (12) which is to be sealed. The tight membrane comprises at least one expansion area (8) and the tight membrane is secured in that it is sealed on the inner side (9) thereof.
