A gas spring for a door flap has the piston rod of the spring secured into a pivot mounting with adjustment for the closing effect. The end of the piston rod is threaded into a fitting slid into a mounting sleeve which is held by the pivot mounting and with a threaded adjuster to adjust the closing force of the spring. The pivot mounting has an eccentric adjustment to finely adjust the closing action.
