PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a variable thickness longitudinal penetrating material for alleviating a weight by dies of the same shape in the penetrating material used for a large-sized aircraft, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The longitudinal penetrating material comprises dies backup plate 1 of two 1a and 1b having an upper part and the same opening 1c as that of a product shape, a fixed dies plate 2 having movable dies plates 3a and 3b contacted with the lower surface of the plate 1 to form a Z-shape opening 2c thereby, a container fixing plate 4, and a container 6 contacted with the lower surface of the plate 2. A method for manufacturing the longitudinal penetrating material comprises the steps of moving the dies plates 3a and 3b to change a gap size of flanges of both ends of the Z-shaped opening, setting the gap to larger than a Z-shape web, filling a raw material billet in the container 6 mounted at a lower part plate 4, pressurizing the material to extrude the material from the Z-shaped opening, and taking out the product. According to this method, the longitudinal penetrating material in which a thickness of the flange is thickened and the web is thinned can be manufactured.
