PROCESS FOR REGENERATING LIQUID CRYSTAL ORIENTATION AGENT

PURPOSE: Provided is a process for regenerating a liquid crystal orienting agent, which solidifies the waste solution of the liquid crystal orientation agent through a dilution step and reuses the waste solvent generated from the solidification by distilling. CONSTITUTION: The process comprises the steps of: collecting the waste solution of the liquid crystal orienting agent; adding the waste solution of the liquid crystal orienting agent to an insoluble solvent against polyamic acid and soluble polyimide or a mixed solvent of the insoluble solvent and a soluble solvent to dilute, wherein the insoluble solvent is diethyl ether and the soluble solvent is N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, gamma-butyrolactone, or a mixture thereof; adding the diluted waste solution to the insoluble solvent to solidify the polyamic acid and the soluble polyimide; filtering and separating the polyamic acid and the soluble polyimide from the insoluble solvent; washing and drying the separated polyamic acid and soluble polyimide and then dissolving in a mixed solvent having the same composition as the original solution of the liquid crystal orienting agent.
