The protection shield is a protection device which impedes unwanted attempts at and actions intended to change the reading of the electric meters thus avoiding any thefts of electric power. It can be used in all electric meter boards which have no protection against encroachments. The protection shield comprises a box (1) on the face front side of which a fitting bracket (2) is fitted by screws (12), which is at some distance away from the surrounding walls of the shield. Bracket (2) consists of an U-shaped frame (11) and two U-shaped plates (10) which are fixed in between. The latter engage the casing of the electric meter on both sides horizontally, and frame (11) is firmly fitted on it. To the outer wall of one of the plates (10) an L-shaped stand (14) is fixed for an automatic change-over switch. The change-over switch handle is fitted in a specially designed hole (5) on the front wall of box (1), and to one of screws (12), fitted on the front wall of box (1) there is a hole (13) for fitting a lead seal. 1 claim, 2 figures
