A louvre surround 14 includes at least one transparent/translucent plate for mounting around the aperture (17, fig 1) of a light fitting 10 disposed in a ceiling. At least part of the plate is arranged to lie substantially parallel to the ceiling with an edge overlapping the aperture so that at least some light emitted from the light source 18 enters the edge of the plate and is emitted from the plate. This gives a pleasing effect and diffuses the light without increasing glare. |
