PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method for forming a high quality image by a method wherein the uniform absorption of a radiation heat sent from a light source and the efficient heat transfer to media such as cards so as to allow to form a high quality image and a printing medium used therein. SOLUTION: In the image forming method, in which a printing medium C consisting of a medium main body 95 and an ink image accepting layer 92 made of a dark color-based one peelably laminated onto the surface of the medium main body is employed and further which is equipped with a printing process for printing an image with a sublimation dye ink on the ink image accepting layer 92, a transferring process for forming the image through the diffusion and color development of the sublimation dye ink held on the ink image accepting layer 92 by the heat treatment with a lamp light source after the printing process over the surface of the medium main body 95 and a peeling process for peeling the ink image receiving process off the medium main body 95, the medium main body has an ink fixing layer 91 for diffusing and coloring the sublimation dye ink laminated onto the surface of a base material layer 90. |
