<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rationalize and simplify a process for synthesizing an oxygen- containing compound without using a harmful carbon monoxide. SOLUTION: This method for synthesizing the oxygen-containing compound comprises introducing a hydrocarbon resource, an oxidizing agent and water into a conversion zone 28 maintained at 600 to 1,000 deg.C in a reactor 11 maintained at 12 to 35 MPa to convert into the reaction product in the semi- critical or supercritical state of the water, introducing the product into a water- separating zone 30 maintained at 150 to 360 deg.C to liquidize and separate the contained water, introducing the product into a synthetic zone 35 maintained at 250 to 450 deg.C to synthesize the oxygen-containing compound and water, introducing the gas exhausted from the reactor into the first separator 12 to separate the oxygen-containing compound from the gas containing the unreacted hydrogen and the carbon dioxide, introducing the gas containing the separated hydrogen and carbon dioxide into the second separator 13 to separate the carbon dioxide from the gas containing the hydrogen and the carbon dioxide, and then introducing the separated hydrogen gas into the synthesis zone.</p> |
