PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothen further a physical distribution in a steelmaking process by progressing a desiliconizing and dephosphorizing treatments while effectively restraining slopping in a pretreating process for molten iron and to raise an iron yield in the steelmaking process. SOLUTION: At the point of time, the height of a slag-foaming in a molten iron pretreating vessel comes to a fixed height, lime stone is charged into a foaming slag from the upper part of the molten iron pretreating vessel.
