PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a counterbalance type forklift capable of enough cooling electrical equipment while securing forced ventilation in a storing chamber by directly communicating the electrical equipment to an electrical equipment side opening of an exhaust vent. SOLUTION: This counterbalance type forklift is provided with a counterweight 5 in the rear position of a car body 4, and the counterweight 5 is provided with a storing chamber 6 formed for storing the electrical equipment 7. The exhaust vent 9 for communicating the inside with the outside of the storing chamber 6 is formed in the upper part of the counterweight 5, and an exhaust duct 19 for communicating the storing chamber side opening of the exhaust vent 9 to the electrical equipment 7 is disposed between them.
