The system for forming a roof construction uses components (4) at least mostly of plastic supporting on a base surfacec and an expandable sealing material fitted between adjacent components. The sealing material is a strip of expandable material, which expands after activation, once covering material, which at least partly encloses it, is removed. The strip expands after exposure to sunlight or to an activating material, particularly water. It expands entirely between 10 and 15 minutes.
