PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an egg obtained by allowing the egg originally scarcely having an active oxygen-scavenging ability to strongly hold the active oxygen- scavenging activity, and to provide a method for producing the egg. SOLUTION: This method for producing the egg for scavenging active oxygen is characterized by administering an iodine compound and/or a seaweed in a constant amount or more to a bird to contain the iodine in the egg in an amount of >=4.2 ppm.
