PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the manufacturing cost of a reinforcement by allowing both ends of the reinforcement to be firmly fixed to a fixed member of a vehicle from the outside of the vehicle in the lateral direction of the vehicle while assuring a lateral clearance between the vehicle and the reinforcement of an instrument panel required for an assembly. SOLUTION: In this reinforcement 1 disposed extendedly on the instrument panel of the vehicle in the lateral direction of the vehicle and having both end parts fixed to the fixed member of the vehicle from the outside of the vehicle in the lateral direction of the vehicle, an elastically deformable deformation part 2a is provided on the reinforcement so that the clearance between the installation member 2 of the reinforcement 1 and the fixed member in the lateral direction can be absorbed when the reinforcement is fixed to the fixed member.
