PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium weight sensor device having a light weight because of simplicity of parts and originality of a structure, having at least equal medium weight detection characteristic to a known medium sensor, and simultaneously adopting an acoustic resonator. SOLUTION: This medium weight detection device is equipped with a Helmholtz resonator means having an opening part 10 formed substantially on one end, a medium weight measuring means connected to the other end of the resonator means and operated, and a medium laterally-moving means for moving laterally the medium 12 whose weight is to be determined across the opening part of the resonator.
